Before you meet
Check the cinema's own listing and buy your own ticket directly from the cinema or its authorised seller. Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you expect to be home.
Use your own transport plan. Keep enough phone battery and money to leave independently. Do not send money, passwords, financial credentials or identity documents to another member.
At the cinema
Meet at the cinema or another busy public place. The cinema-specific Costar guides give a precise suggested meeting point so neither person needs to improvise somewhere isolated.
Consent to meet, exchange numbers or watch a film is not consent to physical, romantic or sexual contact. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Photo review is not identity verification
Costar reviews profile photos for a clear face. That is not identity verification, age verification, a criminal-record check or a general background check.
Report or block
Use Costar's report or block controls for harassment, threats, impersonation, scams or other concerning behaviour. If there is immediate danger in the UK, contact the emergency services first.
